About Rachael
Hello, my name is Rachael, and I am a qualified art psychotherapist.
Following a cancer diagnosis, my own art practice became increasingly important to me as I went through treatment and began to accept what it meant. So when I had the opportunity to retrain as an art therapist, after an established career as a teacher, I took it.
I believe in the healing power of human connection. As a therapist I offer a warm, non-judgemental, safe space where creativity and creative experiences form part of the conversation. No artistic skills are needed.
I have a great deal of experience working with children and young people in junior and senior schools, and I also work with adults and in prison settings. I have a personal interest in life beyond a cancer diagnosis. I can tailor my approach, from short-term, more directive work to longer-term work where the process leads the way.
